Numerical simulation of natural convection and heat transfer in a molten pool with embedded cooling tubes

چکیده

This study described the natural circulation and heat transfer of a molten pool in specifically designed core catcher conceived for pressurized water reactor. In addition to external cooling, features internal cooling tubes embedded pool. To investigate coolability such configuration, first, full-scale simulation is conducted give preliminary under real SA situation. Results illustrated that efficiency can be remarkably enhanced due inner tubes. Then test facility 2D slice with geometrical scaled factor 1:4 has been developed, salt (NaNO 3 –KNO ) experiments will implemented near future. also performed pre-test using NaNO as stimulant flow characteristics The melt convection section was represented by two-dimensional mesh WMLES turbulence model FLUENT code. captured enhancement expected, results would help decide proper matrix improvement instrumentation required obtain necessary data code validation.
